About Us (Dawn & Tim Gabig): We live with our 3 Bernese Mountain Dogs and 1 Tibetan Spaniel on 4 acres in Kirksville (Northeast Corner of Missouri). Dawn has been exhibiting in Conformation as a hobby for more than 34 years and has had Bernese Mountain Dogs since 1984. She also enjoys Dog Photography, Agility, Drafting, Obedience and an occasional Breeding. Tim's first love is Tracking and he hopes to apply for his AKC judging tracking license in the near future. He is also the best Dog Toy ever. We were first introduced to Berners when Dawn purchased our first Berner, CH Blackjack Showtime Ante Up "Marshal". His love, temperament, and beauty were so special, we were sold on this breed for life. We are active members of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America (BMDCA). Currently, Dawn is Vice President and Webmaster for the Heartland Bernese Mountain Dog Club (HBMDC), a regional Berner Club here in the Midwest. Please ask for more information about the Heartland Club and it's upcoming events. We'd love to have you visit or join the growing numbers of Berner enthusiasts in KS, MO, IA, NB, AR, & OK.
Litters/Puppies: Please take the time to be a responsible, well educated buyer. This breed is currently in trouble due to recent popularity on TV and other advertising media. That brings with it the problems of mass production from puppymills which do not take the time to learn to properly breed dogs with healthier pedigrees. Please be patient and stay within the recognized regional or national breed club system when looking for a breeder or puppy.
